Spring-centered, single-axis controls
Use three positions, not “three detents.” The Gin Pole and Power Tong controls are single-axis, spring-to-center, three-position/four-way valves. The Rig Direction lever is the same spring-centered valve pattern and controls traveling-head raise/lower. The call never assigns detents to these three.
“Both of those should be spring to center. Single axis.”— Jeremy Lawrence, 25:31–25:34.
“They’re three position four way spring return hydraulic valves.”— 27:13–27:14. Rig Direction:
“standard three position four way valve.”— 40:15–40:29. [F1]
Label correction: the call names the upper pair “Gin Pole” and “Power Tong,” not “Tong Swing.” Confirm whether the simulator intentionally uses a legacy label before final art.
