NBCRV, UAS & TeleOp opportunity map

What each term means, how the eight live/won Salesforce opportunities relate, and which words belong in the current MRIGlobal updates opportunity.

Direct answer

Yes, both appear in the delivered simulation. The aircraft is the trained system; the NBCRV is the command, sensor and launch context. The evidence does not show that the current updates proposal adds ground-vehicle driving.

Meanings — related, not interchangeable

NBCRVManned ground vehicle

Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle. In this program, it is the armored reconnaissance platform carrying the sensor suite, UAS pods and operator station.

UASFlying system

Unmanned Aircraft System: the aircraft plus its control and support elements. Here, it is the Teledyne FLIR R80D SkyRaider with a B330 biological sensor payload.

UGVUnmanned ground vehicle

Unmanned Ground Vehicle. The Polaris/RENDR and later Textron Grizzly are remotely driven ground robots. This is the older, separate TeleOp lineage.

TeleOpMethod / trainer family

Teleoperation: operating equipment remotely. It can describe both UGV driving and UAS control, so “TeleOps” alone is too broad to identify the current trainer.

All matching Salesforce opportunities

Boundary: every opportunity whose name references NBCRV, UAS/UAV, UGV, TeleOp, RENDR, SkyRaider or JACKS, excluding Closed Lost and Died on the Vine. Eight records matched. Descriptions are ≤200 characters.

Why the current title should change

“MRIGlobal TeleOps NBCRV Updates” points readers toward the wrong center of gravity.
  • TeleOps is an umbrella and could mean the UGV lineage or UAS lineage.
  • NBCRV sounds like the armored vehicle itself is being updated, but the proposal topics came from the UAS trainer.
  • UAS is missing even though the source Opportunity is “TeleOp UAS JACKS conversion” and both attached meetings are titled “NBCRV SSU CS2.1 UAS Teleop Trainer.”
  • JACKS is the delivery platform, not the capability being enhanced. Leave it out unless the new scope includes platform integration work.

Evidence that ties the Updates opportunity to the UAS trainer

June 30 client review

Mark Myers prioritized “mission expansion and session reporting.” River treated that as a call to assemble an unsolicited proposal with MRIGlobal.

July 14 client review

The stable release was on the production JACKS environment. River described new missions, weather/visibility variation and exported trainee scores as the proposed updates.

Delivered simulator definition

ForgeFX’s project page says the application trains remote operation of a UAS from within an NBCRV. The SkyRaider launches from pods on the NBCRV and is controlled through ATAK.

ForgeFX project page

Separate ground lineage

The earlier prototype and ground TeleOp work trained operation of unmanned ground vehicles. Slack later described the signed production scope as Grizzly UGV updates plus a SkyRaider UAS module.

Data-quality issues and red herrings

Source coverage

Internal: live Salesforce inventory and relationships; two complete Fireflies transcripts; Slack search across NBCRV, UAS, TeleOp and exact opportunity names; ForgeApps project artifacts and cached official ForgeFX pages.

External: official Army/FAA pages were targeted, but the configured web gateway was unavailable during this run. The terminology conclusion is still strongly supported by Salesforce, full meeting transcripts and ForgeFX’s published project pages; public-source refresh remains the only material coverage gap.
