Deprecate OpenClaw Across ForgeApps

Retire OpenClaw everywhere in the forgeapps project: stop the running program, remove the tooling built around it, and mark old mentions as historical so nothing tries to use it again.

748Files mentioning it
4.1 GBWorking folder on disk
1Gateway still running
10Active routines to sweep

What Exists Today

OpenClaw is mentioned in about 748 files. A live OpenClaw gateway program is still running on this Mac, started automatically at login. Its working folder holds about 4.1 gigabytes. There is a dedicated OpenClaw skill (in two mirrored locations), an already-archived maintenance routine, and scattered mentions across other routines, plans, docs, and saved memories.

Steps

  1. Confirm with Adam that nothing still depends on the gateway (Slack message delivery once flowed through it).
  2. Stop the running gateway and remove the login item that restarts it, keeping a copy of its settings first.
  3. Move the 4.1-gigabyte OpenClaw working folder out of the project into a dated backup, then delete it from the project.
  4. Remove the OpenClaw skill from both skill folders and take it out of the skill catalog.
  5. Sweep the ten active maintenance routines that mention OpenClaw and delete or reword those steps so no routine checks it anymore.
  6. Update saved memories and wiki pages: mark OpenClaw notes as retired rather than deleting history.
  7. Search the whole project one final time to confirm only clearly historical mentions remain (old reports, archives, changelogs stay as-is).
  8. Save all changes to the main branch and note the retirement in the changelog.

Stays Put

Archived routines, old run reports, and changelog history keep their OpenClaw mentions — they describe the past.

Done When

No OpenClaw program runs, no active routine or skill references it, and the final search shows only historical mentions.
